How often do you boil your neb parts?

The vinegar/water solution is still good for getting any "hard water deposits" (at my house, is like a talcum powder residue) off of them so they work faster and better . But wash them first and rinse and boil them after.

My daughter has a separate neb for each med. So she has enough for one day of treatments. At the end of the day I boil all her nebs after the kids go to bed. I recently bought a pressure cooker specifically for neb boiling, it comes to a boil faster than using a regular large pot. You just need to be VERY careful because of the steam when the nebs are done boiling, that you don't burn yourself.

I have enough nebs to only clean/sterilize them 1-2x per week. I only use a neb once. I do use the same neb for albuterol, then hts, then tobi. I use a seperate neb for pulmozyme.

I rinse them in warm soapy water then rinse. Then soak for 30 min. in H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) to sterilize then rinse in sterile water which I creat by boiling for 15 minutes while the nebs are soaking in the H2O2. Then I blow out all the bases with the neb hose as this is the part that takes the longest to dry. My policy is never, ever, ever use a wet neb.

my daughter Jess has a neb cup for each med.
at the end of each use I wash in hot (tap) soapy water and rinse.
then I put then all in my big 8 cup Pampered Chef measuring bowl and boil in the microwave for 6 minutes.
if you take them out (carefully) while they are still very hot they dry very quickly.

once a week I soak in bleach and boiled water.
used to use vinegar but got my hand slapped at the CF center.
