Hi,<div>  I haven´t post here for a long time.  My husband has CF diagnosed as an adult (33 years old).  He is now 39 and in very good health. 85-90% FEV and only S. Aureus sensitive to every antibiotic in sputum. Only two flare ups a year treated with oral antibiotics.  He goes to a cf clinic here in Spain and he is getting a cf scan every two years to see if there is any progressión of the disease (he has mild bronchiectasies). They haven´t shown any changes over since the diagnosis. I am a little concerned over the amount of radiation that he is getting.  I would like to know how often do cf patients usually get cf scans, and if the protocol for getting this test is different in the US.  </div><div>Thank you</div>

In our center we get a chest x-ray once a year unless they order one when we are sick to check for changes. I am 22 yrs old and I never had a chest CT scan done until I started going throughout the transplant evaluation process. They have me repeat one every 6 months but that is used to calculate my score for listing. It seems to vary greatly from center to center and doctor to doctor. I'm not sure if there is an established recommendation or not.

I have a regular chest x-ray a couple times a year.... once a year at the clinic and 1 before my yearly tune up.

Now that I have a mycobacteria and aspergillus they want to do CT scans at least once a year.

I had 1 chest x-ray and 2 CT scans in a matter of a month (around the first of the year). I am pretty sure I glowed in the dark.
