how often do you vacuum?

We have hardwoods with lots of area rugs upstairs & all carpet downstairs.....

IF I had a vacuum that worked right my house would be better. I know the hardwood floors are suppose to be better, but out of sight works better for me.

I hate sweeping, but love vacuuming!

I used to vacuum only once a week. I had a vacuum cleaner that just didn't do a great job and seemed to throw the dust back into the air when you would use the hose attachement.

So, for Christmas I asked my hubby to buy me a Dyson Animal (we have a Shitzu, who doesn't shed and a yellow Lab puppy-who weighs almost 50 pounds and does shed). I know they are expensive vacuums, and did a lot of research b/f deciding on it. I didn't care if it took my hubby and my parents and his parents to all go on in on the gift, I knew it was going to be just what we needed.

And I LOVE it and can notice a huge difference. So, now I vacuum about every other day, since during the week we aren't home much-hubby and I work, kids are in school, and dogs are in the crates. I know I can go longer b/c it works so well, but I just love how clean my floors get

It was very important to me to get something (my Dyson) that was great on reducing the allergens in the home b/c Kayla suffers from allergies big time!

About half of our home is carpet, the other half is Pergo and ceramic tiles. My new vacuum works GREAT on bare floors-which none of my other vacuums did. I used to have to sweep those areas, which just stirs up the dust, in my opinion.

The most heavily trafficked areas of my apartment get vacuumed daily. Other parts, less frequently. Some unused areas hardly ever get vacuumed.
