How Often Does One Get a Broncoscopy?

I was told it is more like a prognostic than therapeutic. Alyssa has had two, but both times was to determine why she was having issues that might not have been showing on the throat cultures.

I dont' think there is a timeline. If things are going along well and your team can get control of any infections, they probably don't need to do a bronch.

My son has been really healthy and has never cultured anything so I guess I shouldn't expect one unless they have a reason to suspect something. It is not a regular scheduled thing I guess.

...right Gnome and not without risk (damaging airways, introducing bacteria, etc.). It is an invasive procedure and only should be done when all other diagnostic measures fail to find the answer.

I'm 31 and 100% compliant. I've never had one and DO NOT want to have to have a bronch.

...you can be 100% compliant and still require a bronch...my daughter absolutley 100% compliant and unfortunatley we still required one to clear her lungs...you have been very lucky.
<begin quote>Originally posted by: LouLou
