I was diagnosed at 6 months, my parents were told I wouldn't live to see my 18the b-day. I'm 23 now.

You know I have never gotten the enitre "angry" thing. Those were the facts at the time. And things were always presented to me as..statistics etc. No one was ever predicting my future like they KNEW waht would happen to me personally and I actually find it hard to believe that DR.'s then and now do that. I'm not saying it doesn't happen I'm just saying it goes against everything the medical field has ever demonstrated to me...which is a willingness to commit themselves to any sort of sraight answer. To me Dr.'s spend a great deal of time being as vague as possible on topics such as this and life decisions etc. But yes I can understand why, when asked by a parent of a newly diagnosed child they would answer as honeslty as possible in regards to what the average life expectnacy currenlty is. being mad that things sucked back then and that that was the life expectancy I get, but mad at a Dr. for being direct and honest, don't get that.
Well to answer the question mine gave 50% chance of making it to 13. Which affected me so much I literally had to just ask my Mom because I couldn't remember.

One more for 18...
When I was 19 or so I remember telling someone I had CF, and their response being "oh my God... shouldn't you be dead??" I forget my reply, but it was something along the lines of no, I haven't decided to die yet.
