Sorry Nicole- I hadn't been posting in reference to you at all. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0">

I had seen something earlier in the thread that I hadn't noticed when I posted the first time stating "the water isnt sterile like a neb treatment and cannot be made sterile because it sits for hours in the container." I thought, for some reason that is no longer clear to me because it's obviously not- that I had quoted it.

I LIKE the idea of humidifiers with multiple methods of sterilizing the water, as I feel they provide extra layers of safety (except any cool-mist ones... those continue to make me leery despite any claims, so I haven't investigated any of those.) So sorry for the confusion. I should have used the quote feature.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>The one thing that I would check on is how easily you can dry all the parts</end quote></div>
Ours has parts that can all be taken apart and cleaned between uses. This is necessary to clean off hard water deposits, etc and comes in handy for sanitizing purposes as well. I'd specifically look for one with this feature. Since it runs for a full 24 hours between needing the tank refilled, you could time appropriately so it would not ever sit wet for any length of time when the water runs out. For extra protection you could also cover the whole unit when you aren't going to be using it (i.e. with a clean towel) if you want to keep it clean, dry and dust-free between uses.
