Humidity & CF

I am the same as Peter. I live in NV and when I go to the hospital in S.F. especially if its in Fall or Spring when its still actually a bit cooler... the humidity does wonders for me. It lubs me up. Plus I am as sea level, which I can really tell a difference.

I asked one of my doctors once if it is better to be in the dry areas vs. more humid (b/c you hear both things) and he said, in general I think it is, but when you have dry areas you have to worry about the dirt particles and wind more blowing stuff into the air.

It must just be what works best for you...

I am living in north western Europe and we are getting SUCH a rough deal weather wise! It's summer and warm (around 20 degrees celcius) but raining, raining, raining! This weather gives people colds so it scares me!
Sometimes when the clouds are really low and heavy with moisture I find it harder to breathe- and way harder to run.
I am craving sunlight so badly! I've decided this climate is not helping me so I'm going to have to make the tough decision to move away.
I think you need a balance- if anyone knows of a sunny, 30-40% humidity, low rain-fall area, near the sea, where they speak English (!) please let me know <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

The Humidity is a major factor to me, always has been.
Makes it harder to breathe and works the heart a bit more.

The main thing is to Keep Hydrated, if you normally drink
6 to 8 glasses of water a day, Drink More !!!

Keep the lung moist to keep the mucus moving. I add G2 in the
Heat to replace the electrolytes..

The humidity kills me, my lungs work much harder just to get a decent breath in and I usually have to up the O2 to feel even a little more comfortable. It also doesn't help that I hate air conditioners, maybe I am weird that way, but they make me feel sick..in an achy sort of way. I just use fans for the most part. But anyhow, I know how you are feeling, I too live in NY (near the tri state region), yesterday was AWFUL!!! I swear it was 97 and the humidity must have been near 90%, going outside made me feel like I had just finished a shower. My hair took hours to dry properly and it isn't even that long...I pretty much was glued to my bed, only to get up to go to the bathroom. Nebs were done every 3-4 hours as I felt like my airways weren't opening, along with my O2. My vent went on early just to give my muscles a rest and take over the breathing process. Heat does not bother me when it is alone, a dry hot day is nothing, the humidity wrecks me though. I would probably do well in Arizona or New Mexico.
Keep an eye on your sputum though, you could be brewing something....Sending hugs and cool thoughts,
