Sevenstars...yeah...that is weird! I guess if it doesn't bother you and nothing comes of it, it's probably nothing serious. (obviously not a doctor here! lol!)

I guess I was wondering if it had something to do with vitamin levels (melanin/melanocytes/vitamin D/Calcium are all related). That's what I was really curious about...maybe deficient or something?

Hmm, well I do have low calcium/D levels... profoundly low. I always joked that the bright lights during my surgery gave me a perma tan in that one spot, perhaps the skin isn't returning to normal because my vitamin levels have always been bad? Does your son have low calcium/D levels?

If your doctor actually figures it out, let me know, maybe I have the same problem. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

WHen I was diagnoised with adrenal insufficency, I had large spots on my body that were brown, it was becasue the hormones that stimulate the adrenal glands are attached to the hormones that are associated with skin pigmintation.

If your son has been on steroids lately, or recently I would watch him, signs of adrenal dysfunction are low blood pressure, salt cravings, dizziness.. etc.....

hope you figure it out soon,

Jennifer

Jennifer, thank you...I will bring it up with his doctor. I'm assuming you mean Addison's (which is what came up when I researched on the internet).

Sevenstars, he has had a low normal range of Vitamin D in the past (to where we had to add the extra Vitamin D pill) but last time it was checked, it was normal. I'll ask about this as well.

Thanks!!!!
