Just curious if anyone is using HTS for younger kids. Was it good or bad? Did it irritate them at first? Trevor is gettin ready to start it but only cause I requested it. His doc said they usually dont start it till around 6 cause that is what is recommended by CFF. He is said he agrees with trying it and is more that happy to start him on it. But I am a little upset that I had to ask for it if he feels like it would be such a good thing for him. Just wondering how it went for everyone else. He had to do his first treatment at the hosptial so he can be monitored for bronchospasms. Thanks!

Hi. My daughter does this now at 4 and started at 3.5 at our request. For her it is better than pulmozyme or xoPanex. She has had 8 + colds this year (just started preschool) and that hands down helped clear her out the most and reduced the need for antibiotics IMO.

They are near the end of a study on <6 year olds right now and the results should be out soon. Pm me if you want more info. I have done extensive research on this.

We've asked about starting DD on HTS, but her doctor doesn't support it unless she starts to need antibiotics often and/or is sick often (prior to 5 or 6, that is). I'm eager to start her on it, but he doesn't support it without research to show it's not harming her smaller airways - which are already prone to inflammation. We've been to two CF centers and both of them have state the same. She is on Pulmozyme...

Hi my two granddaughters are on HTS since they are 6 months old and have tolerated it well. They inhale Albuteral first to clear airways then 12 min of HTS. It makes them cough and really helps. CHOP is more aggressive with this cause it produces better results and is even proving to be very helpful in children.
Hi my son Braden just turned two in April and has been on Hts since he was 1 and he has done great with it. He never has had any issues with it or any of his meds. He has started to try to us the mouth piece instead of the face mask but I think it fun right now so who knows how long it will last. I think the Hts helps him alot he has not had a bad cold since we started it just one or two 24hr bugs.
Our DD has been on it since she was about 9 months old...She's 3.5 now. She tolerates it well. When she doesn't feel well, we up it twice a day. It causes her to cough, but other than that doesn't seem to phase her
