I got my port

I was supposed to get a port through out patient last Thursday but I on Tuesday I felt I was too sick so I asked to be admitted to the hospital. They still put the port in on Thursday, and it went pretty well considering how I've been feeling. They put the port in my left arm and gave me conscious sedation. There was no pain during the procedure and the day after it felt about like a picc line. So far so good as I am home from the hospital as of last night and have started my home IV's.

Oh wow- I'm glad they got to go ahead and put it in, despite your being kinda cruddy . I hope you are feeling better soon, and I would like to hear more about your port in your arm as it goes, if you don't mind- how you like it, etc. as I have thought about getting that kind .

Well. So far so good. I haven't even had the dressing changed yet. It works great though and I was so suprised by the lack of pain. I know I had anesthesia but I was expecting to be sore for several days and I think it healed quicker than the last picc line. The doctor did say that arm ports probably won't last as long as chest ports.
