Hello Everyone,
Ah, where to begin...Yes, I have a new screenname and took lots of time off after the whole Frankie-thing. I really needed it. I PMed Jeannie and asked her to revoke my old screenname and left the site for quite awhile. I did check in here-and-there with Christian and Lauren being so close to due date but refrained from getting involved in anything.
My life has been busy but in a good way. My house was listed for sale June 22nd or 23rd and just signed off on an offer last night, Sunday. However, it is unsure if the deal will go through since the buyer took out some kind of a government loan for the house. The government is VERY PICKY, and our home is 94-years-old. It's like a 50/50 deal. An inspector has to come during this week so we will know whether it's a go or relist.
Next, we have setup an appointment with an RE specialist for July 25th. We honestly didn't think the house would sell so quickly but surprise, I guess.
As many of you know, we have tried to conceive for over 1.5 years now. Many times I have posted in near tears, anger, and fustration. Well, today I can post with a renewed sense of hope. It's rather refreshing.
As a recap: Started trying September 2005 with nothing (no charting, no OV kits, no nothing). Stopped trying from May - August due to a flareup with my CF. Restarted from September 2006 to Present. When we restarted in September 2006, I started using Robitussin, Mucinex, Evening Primrose Oil Capsules, Charting (but not faithfully), OV kits and so on. You name it, I tried it. So now it has been around 10 months of all that and still nothing. Even Fertility Friend seems to be confused about what is going on...
I still have very abnormal cervical mucus which seems to appear post-OV until period. Sometimes I have spotting around OV. My periods are still every 30 days like clockwork but are VERY HEAVY. Also, my left left ovarian cyst has seemed to reappear within the past month. I'll get to this later...
So hubby and I had a heart-to-heart one month ago. I think he finally understood how much I wanted to be a mom. I had spent months doing research on adoption, which seemed to be the most likely route to go. He was against an RE appointment and anything else of that nature. He had the outlook: it will happen on it's own if it's meant to...Also, he was VERY UNCOMFORTABLE with the idea of US PUSHING AGAINST NATURE. Well, we talked and talked and talked for what seemed nearly an hour, which was good for him. I told him everything about private adoption, public adoption, and RE assistance.
We had 4 choices: adopt an older child domestically, adopt an infant domestically(wait how many years, and pay how much money), adopt internationally( and pay a ton), or try with some assistance and maybe not have to wait or pay a ton. He fondered the ideas around down to 2 choices: private adoption of an infant or assistance with an RE. In the end, he finally said, "Why should we have to pay $20,000 + for a private adoption. That is crazy. I work nearly 60 hours a week to just give it to all the inbetweens. At least we can try with RE assistance, and it may be less with our own biological child minus all the hoops, hurdles, and agony of the adoption system." Then, he went with me to my CF checkup July 3rd and was very pleased with my doctor explaining to him in the flesh that I was in excellent condition. Dr. Vender could see no reason why I shouldn't/couldn't try to conceive. Jake was so happy and finally seemed content enough to say to make an appointment with the RE - so I did.
Now, question...What will happen at the first visit? I would appreciate any advice.
POINT #2 Also, I had to get all my medical records for this upcoming appointment. Well, I picked up my GYN records, and they sat on my table in a sealed office envelope for about 4 days. I didn't touch them. I noticed, though, that for the past couple days again I am having the left-sided ovarian pain (which is known for having cysts for the past 13 years). So I thought I would look at the records for the heck of it.
Well, I had an ultrasound done in November 2006 because of the pain. I had one BIG COMPLEX OVARIAN CYST, which they told me about. BUT THEY NEVER FOLLOWED UP ON IT. Futher down on the page, it states: " ? endo. I'm assuming they mean endometriosis. Could that be the problem???
I have all these symptoms:
Extremely painful (or disabling) menstrual cramps
Massive blood clots for the first 3 days
Chronic pelvic pain and lower back (some days bending over is nearly impossible)
Pain during or after sex
Painful bowel movements or painful urination during menstrual periods
Heavy menstrual periods and last 8-9 days (talk about killers)
Premenstrual spotting or bleeding between periods
Infertility
Always bloated by the end of the day (look 5-6 months pregnant according to friends)
Also, there is a history. My aunt (Mom's sister) had it so badly that she had to have everything removed!!! I know my Mom had cysts but not endo.
Huh, just thought I'd mention it. It makes me really wonder...
Anyway, the appointment with the RE is July 25th. Any advice on anything. Sorry to go on and on.
Thank you, Jenny<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">
