I'll be thinking of and praying for you. Hopefully this appt. with the RE will be just what you need to get pregnant. Many of us have been there and are pulling for you.

On a side note, Can I ask what happened with the Frankie post? Seems I missed something??? (Maybe PMing would be better?)

Hi Jenny,

Welcome back!

I have a lot of your symptoms and I have been diagnosed with stage IV endometriosis.

The very first infertility treatment I had was called HSG. (hysterosalpingogram sp?) I was pretty sure my tubes were not blocked, but it's the first "hurdle" of many in this road to pregnancy. It's fairly painless if you plan in advance. I took 800mg of motrin when I woke that morning and another one right before the exam. I had no pain or cramping during the exam. If you want to know more about it, I'd be happy to share. I don't want to bore you with details incase you've already had one, or know all about them anyway.

The next thing I did was see the RE for a consultation. They found my endometriomas onthe first visit. I thought we were just strutting into the office to tell the RE I have CF and I needed to do IUI to get pregnant. I couldn't have been more wrong. My first RE visit was in January 2003. And my first IUI was in July 2003. So it took that many months of monitoring and endo surgery in May 2003 to get started on the pregnancy stuff.

We did 3 IUIs and my endo came back so quickly the RE suggested IVF before the endo got even worse (endo inhibits implantation of the embryos) In January 2004 we did our first and only IVF. It was positive and I now have the twins.

I hope some of this helps to give you time reference. Everything seems to travel so slowly cause they like to try and rule things out by examinations at certain points during your cycle and obviously there is only one cycle per month. So it can feel slow, but know we are here to cheer you on the whole time. Hang in there!
