I hope I didn't offend anyone

Hmmm, Because we are affected by CF we can't possibly have strong emotional feelings for any other sadness or tragedy?

Teri, this post made me go into the off-topic post ( which i rarely do) and see what you said that made you think someone might have been offended. To be honest i WAS offended, but not by anything YOU said, but by what amy said. That girl has so much growing up to do and most times she talks empty headed. Dont let anything she says upset you.... just chalk it up to immaturity and not enough intelligence to NOT speak before thinking (her specialty). I LOVE that you made a post about Barbaro, i followed his progress and really hoped for a recovery and was very sad when i heard the bad news. He was a Great horse, with a wonderful spirit and will be missed by a lot of people.

I don't hardley ever go to the off topic area either, so I had to look. I'm not an animal lover, but that was sad. I can relate to horses, because when I use to run, I loved the song "Run for the Roses", it was very motivating. Horses are strong creatures, but sometimes uncontrollable things happen to the best and strongest. We do not always have control.

On a side note, this is really funny what happen to me tonight. The kids wanted Arby's Beef and Chedder sandwiches tonight, so to the the drive thru and order them. They say, "we''re out of beef", i'm like okay, give me two beef and cheddars, they again tell me they are out of beef, so I say, do u have hamburgers, they said, "No, this is Arby's." I reliped, oh I didn't know that, I thought Arby's had roast beef." Can't u believe it, they didn't have roast beef at a roast beef resturant at 7 oclock at night

Actually I think you are being uncharacteristically unfair here - I don't think Amy is immature at all, or has much growing up to do. On the contrary I think she is extemely mature and very wise for her age. Outspoken yes definitely, but she knows who she is and what she believes and is brave enough to just say it. She is so secure in who she is she really couldn't care less if not everybody agrees with her all the time....nobody can be liked and agreed with all the time by everybody about everything. The fact that she realises this and gets on with it anyway, shows remarkable maturity and strength of character.

Please let us not all forget the regular good strong advice that Amy supplies on this forum and the words of compassion and caring she has for people on this site often, not always, but often enough to not all gang up on her when one of her comments doesn't go down so well. None of us is perfect, plus you can never here tone of voice over a forum which causes some dreadful misunderstandings sometimes - the perils of written media.

For the record Terri, I whole heartedly agree that the loss of a beautiful, proud animal like this is devastating and I have no problem with your post at all, i think it's wonderful that you all care so passionately for animals, as I do also.

Just my two cents worth, no offence meant to anybody.
Kat (wish I could get these darned paragraphs to work.....grrrr!!)

Krazy Kat, i understand what you are trying to say, and keep in mind that a lot of us have things we would like to just blurt out, but we dont, we think about how offensive and possibly hurtful it may sound and try to make it a little less hostile sounding. Little kids just blurt out whatever comes to mind without thinking of what their words may do.... not adults.
Theres a reason people have amy blocked, and why amy comes under fire a lot of times for replies she gives. Its not that we like to pick on her,( or anyone for that matter), but she invites it by being rude, and offensive. If you find a person that is rude and offensive to others to be a sign of maturity , then thats fine by me, But i sure dont. Yes amy can be a good contributor to this forum at times, and informative, but she can also be unbelievably offensive and i dont think that should go ignored just because she has provided good info here and there. Now with that said, please let's not make this an amy bashing thread, that was not my intention

Point taken Diane. Yes we should all try to be sensitive to others and accept that there are those who are less able to deal with bluntness....i too can be a little insensitive at times and have been called on it too. I guess my bigger concern is when something is maybe meant in a jocular tone but is not taken that way...again just the perils of the written word.
I don't find Amy offensive that's all and never have, I appreciate straight talkers who aren't afraid to have an 'inflammatory' viewpoint, it makes for interesting if heated discussions. But that is just me and I fully accept it takes all sorts to make up our beautiful world and i try to wear kid gloves with people I don't know quite so well. Each to their own i guess, but damn does that girl know her medicine!!!

Lets not start a "who I don't like and why" thread. Amy may not have stated her opinion with much finesse but that doesn't mean she didn't have a point. I was not offended but I agree with the moderators that it belonged in OT. I think when you post something like that in what is basically the "town square" of this forum you should be prepared for some to think it was in error to post it there.

My Angel has the fight of a thoroughbred.

Sometimes analogies and symbolism is only way I can describe my awe for certains things that the universe shows and shares.

It would take about 3 weeks of abusive messages from you for me to lose any respect for you Terri...but I don't think you have a disrespectful bone in your body hun.

One particular saying reminds of some individuals:

"It is better to keep your mouth shut, and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it beyond doubt" (something like that )

Think Lincoln said it.

Edited to add "dis" lmao...hope you didn't read that.
