I just don't know what to do

Aw i'm sorry to hear the problems with the g-tube.
I was on a feeding tube last year but i got it through the nose every night due to the fact my splean is enlarged and my liver is messed up and they can't take the risk of damaging it further with surgery but anyway, while i was on the feeding tube i got HORRIBLE acid reflux i couldn't keep normal foods down throughout the day and i lost my appetite completley if anything i was more hungry right when my tube was going in which put me in no luck. Then every morning when my mom would pull the tube out i ended up vomiting the formula because the feedings gave me horrible acid reflux. Now a year later I have the WORST acid reflux you can imagine and i'm lactose intolerant. If you ask me get her off the feedings because it'll lead to more problems down the road or you can play it out and try getting her on acid reflux medicine and see if it helps while doing the feedings. I hope this helps.

Thank you Alyssa (love the name!)

It absolutely helps to hear the experience of those who have actually dealt with this. I'm really hoping her reflux responds to meds and if it doesn't we may have to remove the tube and see what other options we can find.

I just don't know what to do

Wow, after 5 1/2 years, I finally find out why DS was throwing up so much when he was in the NICU. They'd decide he wasn't gaining enough, wasn't eating enough/fast enough and would put in an NG tube. They'd get the formula down him and then he throw it all up again. Added zantac, consulted therapists because of his poor feeding when we did bottle feed him. Poor kid just felt like poo! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif" border="0"> Hmmm!

Heather, I hope you get some answers soon.

I just don't know what to do

I had the same experience with the g-tube. Was miserable through that eight years with it in (although I do realize it was a necessary evil). I had acid reflux and threw up pretty much every morning before heading off to school. Lovely.
