I KNOW IT HAS BEEN AWHILE

Courtney has been complaining of feeling like she is going to pass out. She does have some small issues with panic attacks, but she says this feels different.

When I talked to her about it I asked her to explain what she was feeling, and I kind of blew it off and said it was panic until she then said that when she needs to pee it come on really quick.

Of course these are some of the symptoms the doc said could be CFRD.

I go out yesterday and buy a new glucose machine and strips. I first take Courtneys blood sugar and it shows 86 (about 2 hours after she had ate). I think great...pretty normal.

Being an ex EMT I love medical stuff so I then proceeded to take Lauren, Laurens boyfriend, Cameron, and my hubbys blood sugar.

Lauren, boyfriend, and Camerons sugars are all in the 40's. Well, this can't be right!! They would all be in a coma with levels that low! So I make sure the machine is calibrated properly...it shows it is working well.

What worries me is if it is running that low and Courtney showed 86 then I am thinking her sugar is running high.

Should I take the machine back and exchange it? 40's is considered a VERY low glucose number, right?????

Thanks for any advice!

It could be her blood pressure. I have had battles with BP for about 2 years now and when it gets low you do feel like you are going to pass out. I hope this helps and you are in my thoughts.

Cory will get dizzy and lightheaded if his blood sugar is low, even if it is not considered too low. He normally runs 160-180 so if he is in the 70-80, it tells him he needs to eats. Usually after he stops and eats, he feels better.
