Okay, this is going to sound odd, and maybe it just works for me, but I have discovered that if I put a good lotion on my feet at night, they stay warmer .

The thermal underwear is a good idea too- I have some that are the regular waffleknit on the inside, but slightly soft and fuzzy on the inside- Ahh, heaven! (even if they are boys thermals ). I have also discovered (like Craig mentioned ), that several thin layers keep me warmer than, say, one big sweatshirt.

I am one too, for whom, when my feet are cold, all of me is cold! At night, I put a heavy comforter or a big pilow on top of my feet, and pull the blankets up as far as I can, sometimes scrunching down in the bed so I can pull them up over my head, with just my face sticking out- the cat finds that interesting, btw, lol.

My husband also bought me some socks that have insoles you heat in the microwave and slip into the bottom of the socks- those were really nice for sleeping when we had a couple of cold, cold, winters here.

They also make "moisture wicking" socks, etc. that are supposed to protect against the "sweating feet ending up freezing" thing. I think that sporting goods stores (hunting, hiking, etc.) have those.

I tend to drink a lot of cocoa and hot tea and decaf/half caf coffee, and chai tea lattes, too!

If I'm really chilled at home, I get a big warm fuzzy bathrobe and breakout the hairdryer, lol.

And having a few "Hot Hands" packets helps too. I hope you get warm soon!

I am always freezing!!! Especially at work. I have a hot pack that I can throw in the microwave. If I feel like I am getting cold I heat it up and just hold it, or tuck it under my shirt. It really helps.

Oh, Yes, I do the hair dryer, too.</end quote>

Ah yes, the hairdryer. Or as I call it, my "Directional Handheld Spaceheater"

I don't get really cold for some reason anymore. I'm not sure if it's my apartment... my level of health, or what.. but a few years ago I'd literally turn blue/teeth chattering/the whole deal.. and right now I'm sitting here in my new apartment with the window cracked (its 37F outside) in a tanktop and pants. So first off, I'd look at seeing what you can do to improve circulation or your general health and go from there.

Aside from the health and circulation issues, I'll just echo what everyone else said for tips to use now. Layers, and lots of them. I would look into athletic style wear ("wicking" or "high performance" stuff for exercise and running) because it's very lightweight but warm, and specifically designed for layering. Knee high socks are great, as are stockings/pantyhose when worn under pants. You don't need to get out the long underwear necessarily.. just adding that thin layer on your legs will help keep them warm.

Make sure your feet aren't constricted in your shoes, as that will make them cold, then the rest of you will get cold and miserable. Try to wear breathable yet warm shoes (easy to find, I know )

Keeping your head warm also helps a lot, so if you don't want to wear a hat all the time, maybe you could try scarves or bandanas? For jackets, again I recommend jackets designed for running - very lightweight, but windproof and warm.

Sending wishes for warmness your way!
