Our human resource/finance director is a real B#t@# and I've heard thru the rumor mill that she complains about the high cost of our insurance rates and blames certain people. I was complaining to her about a guy who retired last year because of cancer, yet was still on our policy (cobra) and he said he was feeling bad 'cuz she implied the same about him. I said we've had two people have heart attacks, one person suffered a stroke during surgery and stayed on our policy until he could get disability, one snowmobile accident resulting in coma/quadapalegic... It's not just us.. Besides that's what we pay insurance rates for...

I really get peeved 'cuz she's badmouthing ME and my boy. But then I consider the source and realize she's a bitter, gossipy old bat. Who BTW, also was treated for breast cancer last year. And if she ever, ever gives us trouble or says something to my face about it... She'll be talking to DS's godfather -- an attorney who specializes in medical malpractice

My husband's insurance through his previous employer was "privately owned" by the company - is that the same thing? He was told that they are NOT allowed to look at the medical claims for individuals, just as a whole. He asked specifically bc he was concerned about getting the axe bc of our daughters bills.

Sounds fishy to me!

Hey everyone,

thanks for the thoughts and replys. Yesterday evening I emailed my boss and asked her if that was something she told me in confidence or is it something I can approach HR about? I am hoping she will reply something so I will at least have some acknowlegment that the conversation even took place. I have decided if she replys(she is sharp so I am sure she probably will call instead) I won't say anything, I will just file it away at my house for a rainy day. I really do like my job and I don't feel like finding another.

Well I do hope this whole thing blows over and it not be mentioned again, that does suck though, hopefully you wont have to find another job either.
