"It is important for them to realize it is not their fault in not doing enough to prevent the progression. It is even more important for them to maintain positivity in order for them to remain doing everything they can to stay healthy."

I am glad this was said. If any one reading this post I hope they see the importance in this statement. When you blame yourself or take fault because of the natural progression of the disease you loose your ability to keep a positive outlook and keep fighting CF.

Quick story:

The last time I was in the hospital my Doc could see the frustration on my face. I asked him what we could do to fix my lungs. He said get new ones. Yes...wow. I wasn't ready to hear that but that is the only fix once you get to a cetain point. My doc could then see the look of failure on my face. He quickly said this is not your fault. Sometimes you can do everything right but CF will still progress. I still blamed myself and was ready to wave the white flag of defeat but then I started coming back to this site and got some encouraging words from others. I have stopped blaming myself and have found a positive attitude again. Guess what. I feel better. In the end, if I need a transplant I know I have done everything in my power to control my health. I am not ready to give up just yet!
