I go to clinic at Children's as well(although I am well past the pedi age). They are one of the best clinics and are very active in drug trials etc... as well. I have been seen there for almost 30yrs and I can tell you a lot has changed since I first started going. As Cheryl said, there is no waiting room. You are taken immediately to an exam room and then everything is brought to you. Also, if you need to have any testing etc... done outside of clinic they give you a little blue card that indicates you are a contact precautions and you will not have to wait in any waiting rooms for whatever testing is needed. You are immediately brought into the room required for whatever test is being done. When I went for an EKG recently I almost didn't stop at the reception desk in cardiology. They just had to print out 1 piece of paper(30 seconds) and I was taken back to a room.

We live in Western Mass. and travel to Hartford. Dominic is seen at Connecticut Childrens. I adore our care team and wouldn't go anywhere else. Dominic was however diagnosed at Baystate Medical Center, which is an accredited center. We left due to lots of confusion at the time of diagnosis.

We go to CT Children's too and are very pleased with the team we see. They are very prompt in returning phone calls, don't rush through clinic appts, encourage parents to be an informed & educated, and try hard to make Emily feel comfortable. They don't leave you in the waiting room or shuffle you around to various rooms, either- it's one room for your whole visit (except for where you do pft's, of course.)

Shortly after her dx I did some research on the CFF website comparing clinics nationally; I was pleased to find that our clinic was on par with many large, well-known hospitals.

My boys are seen at Boston Children's and we love it. In the 18 years since diagnosis we've seen lots of changes in the hospital and in the clinic, mostly good, especially recently.

Last year a prominent CF doctor from MGH joined the staff at Children's. It says a lot that a doctor of his experience wants to leave his clinic to work in another.

We've received excellent care at Children's and would recommend it to anyone. PM me if you have any specific questions.
