My son started out with the croup then it turned into viral pnemonia then he was hospitalized because the doctor said it was the c.f acting up and it had to controled so 14 days later we went home no cough , sometimes its just the actual disease that needs treated with the iv antibiotics because my son cultured clean , the c.f thing is tricky on how it will flare up and then seemingly settle down.It took me a long while to understand the entire c.f thing was unpredictable even though i was told that. Just look at it as a good thing for your daughter, she will eat better afterwards which is a good thing. Yes it is a long time to have a baby confined but better to get it taken care of then to have it continually act up and change viral infections . This was the first time it has done this with my son 4 now but with all this stuff in the world going on things are changing. I WILL PRAY FOR YOU! I hope the chest x-ray turns up clear so it will rest ur mind some....

I hope you don't have to go in, but if there's a bad bug it's the way to kill it.

Two weeks is probably normal. My son was in the hospital 17 days when he was 14 months old to knock out pseudomonas. He did not really mind it and had a fine time being strolled all over the place while the IVs ran - the difficulties coping were pretty much all mine and my spouses (2 weeks of hospital food and being inside during the summer is enough to wear anybody down). Two of those 17 days were a result of scheduling trouble for getting IVs started and a bronchoscopy when it was finished.
