I wish we still had Amy's info on here from Dr. Warwick.

He is the inventor of the vest and he had a scale of pressures and frequencies to experiment with. Basically, as your pressure increases, you decrease your frequency. I used to do three different pressure and the same frequency, just like everyone else, but as soon as I switched to the other way, my pfts increased.

If you want to look it up, google Dr. Warwick my thoughts on living with cystic fibrosis. He will tell you how to set your pressures and frequencies and will also tell you how to cough effectively.

I wish I could give a link, but I'm not quite sure how to do it.

So what frequencies do you use for the vest?</end quote></div>

I really don't pay much attention to the numbers, but I always make sure it is set at the maximum. I just don't feel a good pounding at any lower setting. I have a Hil Rom vest, had it for years, and its a huge step up from what we used to do. I still remember growing up and my parents had to manually percuss me, we had a therapy table. Technology advanced at just the right time, as my mother got ill and my father was too busy taking care of her, and I am not into manually hitting myself. It seems technology advanced again with the invention of the percussor, it hits you so hard it almost knocks the wind out of you.
