oh man the past couple days have been odd. i started to get sick, so my first instinct was to take my treatments every four hours. thats usually what the dr tells me to do. well thats not working. This smorning i woke up and i can barely breath, my head hurts i have a warm forhead and i cant hardly eat because my throat is swollen from coughing so much. I wanna go to the hospital but im scared to because of my son. I want to call and see if they can do a home course of iv meds. i cant stay in columbus hospital for two full weeks i have a son to take care of. Hope they will do that. It hurts so bad when i cough. My pfts went from high 80s to low 60 and i think they are getting worse.

I had this the last 2 days & was quite scared about it. I stepped up my treatments including doing my tobi. Its not completely gone, but its much better. I also got extra sleep which I think was a big help. At the time of waking up from naps etc I didnt think so because I felt like crap, but in the long run it helped. Do you use Tobi or Colistin? Many of us on here are catching something. It seems to be very similiar although I still am not sure what it is. You cant let this go. Your pfts are already drastically low. Please contact the doctor, speak to your Mom and make the necessary arrangements. If you are worried about your husband using this as ammunition.....you should be more worried about him using the fact that you wont care for yourself properly as ammunition. ~HUGS~ and let us know what happens!

BTW I DO KNOW how you feel regarding your baby. I neglected my health for some time because I didnt want to make things difficult for anyone that would have to pitch in for my daughters care while I was admitted. BUT you know what...that 10 days or 2 weeks or whatever is better then a lifetime because if you dont work hard that is what it will be. They will have to care for Lucas for a lifetime. I feel confident speaking up like this because I HAVE BEEN THERE! The only difference is that I was older & more established in my life.

I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad! Go ahead and see the dr, explain everything that is going on, and see if you can go on home iv's. My dr. is really good about home iv's, but I usually have to go in for a 24-48 hour period when I first start my ivs.

I know how awful it feels to leave your baby to go into the hospital . I had to go in for a couple of days when Ab was a tiny thing- I was pumping breastmilk and storing it in the nurses' 'fridge for whichever family member's turn it was to make a "milk run" lol , and I took a, ahem, Ab sized stuffed sheep with me to cuddle and sleep with... and baby pics, of course.

But your baby boy needs his mommy around for a long time, so do it for him... I know you can do it!

Jazmine was 18 months old when I had my first admit after having her. She was interested in Teletubbies and gave me her "Po" doll to take with me along with her picture of course. We kept Po just for my hospital stays to this date. SHHH dont tell anyone LOL!

Vampy....AnD is right about at least checking on home iv's. It doesnt sound like you can afford to mess around with things. Good Luck!
