I live in NC and the story has been all on our stations. I think it is terrible and heartbreaking. Yes, NC is one of the few states that does NOT have a law that reconizes unborn children in murder. They say that the reason is because the child has not taken a breath of air. Do I agree with that law? Absolutely not. I think he should be held on 2 accounts of capital murder and the death penalty should be seeked. The man is an active Marine that killed another active Marine, they are gonna eat him up when they find him. I think they could have done a better job of making sure he didnt flee, but that's another story. If I was him, I think facing rape charges would be a lot easier to take than a murder charge.

I havent heard anything about the funeral or developments. The last I heard is that he was spotted in LA and possible headed to TX, maybe to Mexico because he has family there. As far as how they will get him back, if they find him, I'm not sure.

I personally believe in freedom of speech, but I dont think it is right for protesters to use something like this for their personal points of views. Nothing against freedom of speech, but just out of respect of a fellow human being and their greif stricken family. I'm sure no one who protest would want someone making a scene at their own or their family members funeral.

This whole issue just makes me sick.
<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>i personally hope that that the radicals protesting the funerals don't get arrested because the first ammendment gave them the right to protest, even at the funural of one of the brave men and women who gave them that right </end quote></div>

The group of protestors makes me sick coming from a military background, several of my family members have been in in the armed services & I have a brother that has served time in Iraq just recently & had to come home to a brother that died right beside him to this same group in NC protesting at the fallen soldiers funeral---so, i don't care if it's thier first ammendment right to protest--tell that to the grieving family & the soldiers that watched that man die right before thier own 2 eyes.

with that said, I believe that he will be caught & when he is caught he might be brought to justice. i believe that it is bullcrap that we will have to promise to spare him the death penalty to be able to extradite him back to the states but hey, if that gets him back here to serve his time & pay for the crime i will agree with that rather then let him live the life of luxury there getting away with killing a fellow marine who was serving her country. he will have to live with the fact that he killed a women & her unborn child for the rest of her life & the criticism that will come with it.<img src="i/expressions/devil.gif" border="0">

Isn't there a group (maybe a biker group of some sort? Vets?) who have been escorting mourners at these funerals, or blocking the view of the protesters at the funerals? Or was that just one funeral I read about?</end quote></div>

Yes, there is a group, actually a couple of groups that do. I think the main one is the Patriot Guards. Here is a link to an article that mentions the Patriot Guard:

Yes, 2 counts of murder, IMO...

I don't think its right either but unfortunately they are completely within their rights to do this, if we arrest them for their protests we are tearing at the fabric of this nation. At the same time, it is also completely within your rights to go ride motorcycles in front of them as long as you stay on the road, i completely support that, i'd join them if i could. i think they need a huge semi truck and park right in front of them myself, the semi engine will be loud enough to drown out most of their noise and then you don't have to look at them
