I asked our doctor about the vest when my daughter turned one. he was all for it, but felt that we needed to wait until age 2. Then my daughter was hospitalized at 14 months. The RT in the hospital brought us the vest for one of her treatments and it went great, after some really badmanual treatments. So the RT started the process, and used the hospitalization as rationale to get it. It worked!!! She's had it for over a year, and minus some difficult days, its been such a blessing.

Ditto to what everyone else said. My youngest got her vest at 11 months old. She has the respirtech one. She is not bothered by it, what bothers her is the mask on her face with the nebulizer. She hates that!!

DS didn't get his vest until he was 2 1/2. And he wasn't scared, he thought it was cool when he sang Johnny Cash's Burning Ring of Fire to us. We did have issues where he didn't like to sit still or sometimes he couldn't quite hear the DVD he was watching due to the noise from the vest and nebs, but he got used to it. Was never afraid of it.

He doesn't really like it while he's sleeping, so I still do CPT in the early morning hours. Though we have used it when he sleeps. Just on a slower speed.

But nowdays he vests and plays video games. The other day he inisted on finishing a game he was playing, so we just added another 20 minutes onto his treatment time. Figured we might as well get a good treatment in if he's just sitting around <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
