insurance copays

Hi everyone,
It's that time of year..open enrollment through our employer's health care plan. There have been a few changes made for 2009 and our monthly copay for TOBI and Pulmozyme are going up to $250 each instead of $50. It makes me wonder if this is high, or if I was just lucky to have $50/month for so long. This will definitely be the point at which we have to tighten our belts and I'm feeling very nervous. I'm sure we won't qualify for any of the assistance programs. How do you handle an extra $500 bill added into the already expensive mix?

Your insurance is great. I pay 25% of my Rx. TOBI was $938 out of my pocket.

I know you don't think you'll qualify but the novartis program for TObi may help with copays that high, I would try and see if they will.

How much do you order at a time? With some plans you can order a three month supply at a time, and you will still pay the smae co-pay as if you were ordering a one month supply. You have to get your doctor to write it on your prescription.
