is it that uncommon for compressors to stop working?

It is common. As CFers I think we really give them a work out. If you cant get anywhere with a regular rep then speak to a Supervisor. You dont have time in your day or need a delay in your health to be arguing with them over this.

If they had any common sense they should realize machines wear out. I dont care how good they are!

YES....it is VERY common for a CFers compressor to go out. Especially if it is a Pari Proneb Ultra. Keep on them about it and demand a new one. Pulmozyme taking an hour....that is just plain ridiculous.

I thought the life of a neb for CFers is usually 1 year? I mean, CFers use their nebs WAY more than asthamatics or others who have respiratory issues and need nebs.

Ours died this spring and we got a replacement. Of course, the home health company gave us a generic we don't like, messed up our equipment and then we switched to e-flow so we're only using it for Pulmozyme right now. If/when we have to HTS we'll have to push for a better neb or switch companies.

But, I would expect a neb to die eventaully, especially with the work-out you give it.
