Is Pregnancy Possible w/out Medical Intervention?

With my son I got pregnant after 4 months of charting and I used ovulation predictor tests the month we got pregnant. Really I think it took me 4 months to figure out my cycle (I generally ovulate around day 22). But other than the charting and use of OPK it was all natural.

To get pregnant this time here is all of what I did:

- Charted on Fertilityfriend.com including temperature, cervical fluid and cervix position (been charting this time around since January but we didn't start to TTC till August)
- used OPKs
- took mucinex 2x a day when I got a + OPK reading till I knew I had already ovulated
- used preseed when I got a + OPK reading
- took vitex (an herb) and B6. The vitex helps regulate your cycle and the B6 can lengthen your luteal phase (I have a short luteal phase due to my son still nursing)
- Took progesterone starting 3 days after ovulation due to the short luteal phase

I don't make good quality cervical fluid so I really believe preseed is my answer. I was doing all of the above except taking vitex when I got pregnant a few months ago but that ended in a miscarriage at 7 weeks. 2 cycles later and I am now pregnant again.

Here's some advice for you - buy OPKs and pregnancy tests online - either ebay or saveontests.com - you'll save A TON of money especially if you become obsessive about peeing on a stick lol like me.

If I were to seek out medical assistance for myself I'd probably try to do several rounds of IUI since I know I ovulate regularly. If not pregnant after a few months (maybe 4 or 5) I'd probably move on to IVF.

Lastly - stress can inhibit conception to try to reduce your stress as much as possible.

With my son, I got pregnant immediately - no trouble.

My daughter took over a year, and we did medicated IUI (we actually did 2 IUIs, and I got pregnant after both, but miscarried the first one).

Honestly, I think that we would have conceived fine on our own, but I was getting very impatient and have an OBGYN in the family and so I told her i wanted to speed things up a bit - so who knows.

Thanks for the posts so far...

We have been trying for 2 years (charting for 6 months of that) with no luck. I scheduled an apt on Dec. 20 to discuss our options. I just wanted to see what others experiences have been.
