Is this true?

I don't think that is an accurate number either. My parents did seperate but it was not because of me. My Mom was a single mother with 4 kids (I was the only one with CF) and she never filed for bankruptcy.

Seems a bit high for CF alone!

Now we filled for bankruptcy in 2007 due to medical and medical bills only....but CF (expenses related) was only part of the reason, but the rest had nothing to do with CF, heck not even the same person!

With that said, I have heard that CF and MS are two of the most costly diseases, but definitely wouldn't say that CFers and MSers have a 90% chance of filling for bankruptcy.

As far as the divorce rate, that's crazy! If anything, Briceton having CF has brought us all closer and stronger as a family!

More people with chronic illness IN GENERAL in their families break up (it's a huge strain) but to claim 90% of families do is just BS. My parents have been married almost 40 years and would probably tell you that my CF has made our family stronger. As to bankruptcy, again, I don't think anyong can deny that CF (and other illnesses) are a financial strain in our country, but 90% bankruptcy seems excessive. My advice is to take it day by day and not worry about the statistics. As with the life expectancies, stats are often wrong and are not meant to be applied on the individual level.
