The ER docs in my town have NO clue!
It's like they are afraid to even touch Briceton as they may contract something. They treat us like freaking aliens. They won't even touch him, having me do all the lifting and moving him about for a look over. This past time the freaking ER doc even had the nerve to bring in someone else, not even sure if it was a hospital employee, to view my CF child. Picking and looking at my little boy's fingers as if he was a circus freak! Pissed me off, mind you this is NOT a teaching hospital so this was NOT students. I was so taken back that I was speechless! Needless to say, I have learned to either drive the 3 hours to the ER at the hospital that our CF clinic is located or to insist that he be immediately transferred by ambulance/helicopter.
Its total lack of education on the doctor's parts and the hospitals! But that still gives them NO right to treat my son life a freak! As you can see, this is a sore subject for me!
