Hi guys,
Well, we've been in since yesterday. Andrew had his bronch and picc placed in the mornig and the doctors said his entire right side was a mess..full of mucus. He said we've moved from having "normal looking lungs" to having "cf looking lungs." (Thank you for those kind words. silent cry.)

Anyway, they put him on gentimycin and timentin. So, I'm just calling out to those who have been on this. What were your experiences? Did you get either of these meds through an eclipse ball at home? Any side affects you had trouble with? I'm really hoping this can all be eradicated with the ivs. My concern now is looking forward. Is he going to start colonizing things more often?

Oh Tonya - I've been wondering how Andrew was doing. I'm just afraid of when that ball is going to drop for my son too. When they do so good --and then you get news like that. Hopefully the meds will get him feeling like new!! Your all in my prayers for a speedy recovery:)

The first round of IVs I was ever on was Gentamycin. I had no adverse side effects, and it got rid of my MRSA (I haven't cultured it since - 6 years ago). I didn't use Eclipse balls, I use Baxter Intermates. They're very similar, the Intermates look like this:
