I have done home IVs several times. Most times I am in the hospital 3-4 days and then I go home with the IVs. I even go back to work with them. I don't see a home nurse, although my doctor will make me go get blood work for peak and trough levels. I agree with Jaime that the balls of medicine are the best. I teach, and it's a lot easier to start a med on the ball that works with gravitation and then two hours later to flush with saline than it is to start and stop pumps that beep and interrupt class and stuff.
