i kept CF from my wife while we were first dating. i was really healthy then and i was super sneaky with my enzymes. she realized something was wrong when i brought my neb on a group vacation. her friend tried to talk her out of staying with me. that friend was the maid of honor in our wedding.

as for the movie.... made for tv. it was really that good.

SPOILER!!!

watched it tonight... i can deffinitely see why some would not like it cause of both the acting AND the grossely inaccurate portrayal of CF in general.

Also, a TON of unanswered questions (i.e. him smoking the whole movie?? the transplant girl just "showing up" at the end like everything was wonderful... for people who don't know anything about CF, wouldn't that be construed as a girl who's super sick waiting on lungs, and within a year or so is well enough to be out on the NY streets chasing down FPJ?)

Strange strange movie, but did make me happy to at least hear cystic fibrosis and her "sort of" explanation of it to her friends. Too bad it seems it went straight to video. Would be amazing someday if an actual academy-award winning movie (with academy-award winning acting) came out to portray CF for all that it is and can be... Similar to the aformentioned "Philedelphia", which though it may not have been totally accurate, did have some very intense and difficult scenes to watch while he and his family/friends dealt with the disease process.

I agree though, sometimes the message is better than having just a really depressing film about CF and sitting through that. Taryn's character (though cheesy), was cute and fun to watch and had a good message, if taken at face value.

I have to agree with many others in that the film was pretty bad, IMO. If CF were not a part of the movie I would have switched channels in the first 5-10 minutes.

Again, as others have said, at least mention of CF is out there, so that's good.

I agree with Sonia--at least it wasn't a total downer.
