Apart from clubbed fingers and a barreled chest, most cf'rs will tend to look normal. I've had a few rude comments in my days from fellow cf' campers making comments regarding whether I really had cf or not.
I'd love to go to the gym to build up, too...however just don't have that kind of energy anymore...I can probably do about 100 sit ups from the abs I built up from all the coughing, though!
As for the spool in question, I hadn't really seen all of it, but it seemed to give a strong 'fishy' scent to it...wasn't sure whether to dip it in soy sauce and wasabi, or feed it to the dog!
Anyway, with the way some scams seem to go in the U.S. these days, wouldn't put anything past some people.
BTW, has Mark ever considered getting into body building contests???

*uh hem* pale and pasty does not = sick. it means you were born with a gene that gives you pale skin.

IMHO there is a definite difference between naturally pale skinned people (who usually have a healthy tinge to them) versus pale/pasty (who usually have blue/gray tint or unhealthy look to them).

BTW Julie Mark's workouts pay off. YOU GO GIRL!

i have always had a 'pasty' blue tint to me. its because my skin isnt that thick in a lot of areas and because i dont have as much fat in my face as others. therefore, veins and any skin colour changes to do with temperature show easily. regardless of whether i am healthy or not it has always been there. i can go from blue, red, purple to stark white within an hour! its annoying when every second person asks if i am ok just because i dont have that 'peaches and cream' pale complexion you speak of. the only reason they are asking anyway is because western society has rammed the 'tan = healthy' BS in their faces. if i was living in asia people would be worshipping my skin, not asking me if im ok!

Hermit, LOL, that's Mark my husband. And I don't share at least not him LOL. He didn't always look that way, out of HS he was that height (6ft) but about 145lbs. He's between 185-200 now and is still 6ft.

Danyell, yes, those abs are from coughing mainly but he also does them in the gym about 5-10 minutes each time he goes. Just a little toning I guess.

And Alyssa, you are right I was going to post one of those pictues anyways, and then that thread started and I figured it was perfect timing.

But about my issue with the threads, it isn't about calling the guy out, questioning him, thinking he might be a fake.... it's the "doesn't LOOK like CF" comments that are getting to me.
