Julie who had triplets Emergency please read

Julie,
I am so sorry I have posted this way trying to find you but I really need your help..

Today in IVF clinic I met a lady who had to embryos that were transfered and one split and the both took. All doctors are telling her to selective reduce and she is scared stating she never heard of success with triplets. I told her about you but feel only you can give her an accurate account of what to expect. This is a very personal decision but she has not ever spoke to someone with triplets and everyone is telling her to reduce..
I know you are very busy but could you please take a minute to write her?

Hi. I hate to bump into a thread I personally know nothing about, but I saw something many years ago (on Oprah- hang in there with me for a minute <img src=""> ) where she was doing a show on multiples, apparently (I was channel surfing) and they had a bunch of kids running around (twins, triplets, etc. I gathered) and there was this one lady in the audience, who they were talking to, and she was upset. She said that she had been advised by her doctor to do a reduction from 3 to 2, and now, being at the show and seeing the kids, she saw that it was possible to have healthy multiples, and now was wondering what that 3rd child would have been like, looked like, at the same age as the other 2...and started to break down, and they had the decency to go to break or something (they took the camera off her, anyways) and that woman has stuck with me all these years; the devistation and heartbreak on her face...even though she had just done what her doctor suggested...

I will pray for her to do the best thing for her children, whatever it may be...

Another important thing to consider is if this mother is healthy with no complications such as cf. I think you know that Julie isn't the one with cf rather her husband but just in case I thought I'd mention it. I don't know if you even got to this point of discussion with this lady in the waiting room but I'm just saying there might be more to the story.

In my personal experience, my OB and cf doctor wouldn't have supported me in carrying more than one fetus. I didn't do any fertility work so I had little chance but I clearly understood that should I present with twins or more that reduction was their advice.

Update:

Erin has just emailed me. She said they did an ultrasound right after we met yesterday and the identical twins died. Apprently they couldn't hear the heart beats. She said she is so thankful she met me and that the singleton still has a strong heart beat.

Well, that was an answer to my prayer last night; a sad answer, but an answer. I prayed that if it wouldn't be good for her babies to be all carried together, that He would take which ever one(s) home that needed to go...I'm so sorry that she lost them, but I'm relieved that she didn't have to make that decision herself...I will pray that this little one grows strong and healthy...

Another bitter/sweet happening. I am glad she didnt have to make the decision, but I still feel for iher.......
