Just feeling down

Well, it finally happened. I was next in line at the post office, a very long line, and he had the poo! There were some very nice older people behind me that made me feel better. Luckilly, it was a very nice day so I just opened up the back end of my SUV and cleaned him up there. The postman told me I could be next in line when I went back inside.

I guess I'm over the first time nerves now. Thanks everyone for your help! I am going to see if the plastic pants will help. I will no longer be a prisoner to the poo!!

One thing I noticed with DS was the brand of diapers I used. I LOVED the look of huggies, unfortunately, they were the WORST for him as far as containing the poo and pee. I used Pampers swaddlers/cruisers and even target & walmart (white cloud) brands with the elastic with no problems. But the Huggies brand were a nightmare. Fortunately a coworker had similar problems with her daughter & pampers, so we swapped coupons. In fact prior to his birth I bought TWO huge boxes of huggies and ended up giving them away.

Never used Luvs 'cuz they didn't have the elastic waist or legs at the time. Seemed like I had to use the elastic ones because to allow for the bigger tummy times when he's get the big poop or gas belly <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

My mom tells me that she used to cut out the absorbant panel of one diaper to place in another diaper to try to keep from a diaper blowout. Granted diapers have come along way since 1978-81 but maybe this tip will help someone. She also tells me this story of having to get out of the house - we lived in rural New Jersey - Vernon Valley - headed to the mall far away. When we got there I was covered in poo all the way to my neck. She bathed me on the hood of the car and off we went to shop. Damned if a dirty baby was going to ruin her day of shopping - love it!
