Hi Cody and congrats on being listed!! I was on the list for 5 months and when I finally found out I was getting the transplant, I was so excited!!
Waking up from the transplant was pretty easy for me. I had family members in the room but I don't remember much for the first day or two. The pain was bad for me. I don't know if it was because I had lungs and liver or if it was just the pain in general for me. We had to up my pain meds and try a couple of different ones before we got the pain to at least calm down.
I was out of the hospital in 12 days and home 2.5 weeks after that. Get to moving as fast as you can post transplant, it will really help you recover faster. Good luck!!

What's the average wait for the lung transplant list? I am gettting close to being on the list and am scared to death... but know I would feel much better post-transplant. Just wondered if it's a long wait usually or what. Also, are you on Disability (Social Security Disability) or do you work? I work a full time job but am exhausted everyday and really need to apply for Disability but don't know how hard it is to get approved. I heard it is a pain too.
