hey there.
I've never heard of kidney failure but when I went on IV vanco for the very first time, I felt like I had a bladder infection...I felt like I had to pee, it hurt to pee when I actuallty had to go, my lower back just hurt in general. I had asked my nurse if my urine sample had shown any sign of infection and she said it only showed some mild dehydration. After explaining to her my symptoms, she told me that vanco can really reek havoc on your kidneys and to drink lots of water to flush them out while on vanco. Every time I'm on vanco now, I drink water like it's my job. My fiancee and mom make fun of me now for the amount of water I drink while on vanco...they tell me I'll float away, lol.
Just thought I'd share my kidney knowledge and experience with vanco.
