Late for my period

Hello,
I am 29 and my FEV1 is 59%.
I am (a week) late for my period. What IF I am pregnant? What are the odds that I will be ok to deliver?
For any of you who have kids, what was your lung function like before, during, after the baby?
I'm freaking out!
Any advice would be appreciated.

I've been a week and a half late with my period due to changes in my cycle, etc. An FEV1 of 59% isn't too bad for pregnancy. As for odds on delivering, I suppose it's different for everyone. Are you healthy for 59%, etc?

Are you on any antibiotics? Sometimes that does wierd things to your body. In addition if you've lost weight recently, that could have something to do with your cycle too.

OK Lets start with the obvious ???.......Have you had unprotected sex? If not then chances are pretty good its late because of something being off balance. IF you are worried because you played the odds then the next thing to do is take a pregnancy test. There is no sense of putting the cart before the horse. If it comes back positive then you need to consult the Dad & your doctor & decide what you will be doing. There is a wide range of what ifs with pregnancy & CFers. Some of us delivered naturally with no problems, others delivered by emergency c section. IF you are pregnant & choose to continue the pregnant, you need to the best that you can in maintaining your health. Your pft's are not great, but not bad.....they are IMHO borderline & with a baby in you will be harder to keep during & maybe after pregnany. IF all of this is from your body being out of sorts then calm down, figure out what is off kilter. Is it a new med, loss of weight recently, stress etc?! Good Luck!

Do the test. Don't worry about something unless you have facts to worry about. I know its easier said than done.
If its positive, call your doctor and the dad. Meet with the cf doctor and discuss your health status, your nutritional status, how your health will fare after the baby is born. There are SO many things to consider. Are you working, do you have help...the docs will help bring up these things. They are there for you, to organize all these thoughts and help you make the right decisions.
It will be ok. You have to keep telling yourself that.
Best wishes.
