Learning to blow noses!

I am having problems with Austin not knowing how to blow his nose. I have tried for years but he continues to sniff it all back up in. I think that if he would just learn how to blow all that crap out instead of sucking it all back in he would feel soooooo much better.

How do you teach them to do that?

Tell him to imagine (just imagine not really do it) that inside the tissue is a candle he is trying to blow out, but instead of the air coming from his mouth. It will come from one nostrol while holding the other shut. Then do it again with the other nostril.

Also, have told her to pretend she's blowing her boogers out on her brother(yes I know not nice but we thought it was silly and it worked). Found it helpful to do it after HTS nebs or Simply Saline nasal spray.(Loosens stuff up)
