There are statistics, which have been quoted already - but, you have to remember that is just an average.

Life expectancy varies from patient to patient. There are so many circumstances that can change how long someone with CF lives.

I'm going to be 42, and I know several others in their 40's. Yet, my little brother passed at 18 months.

Since NO ONE knows how many days they are given to live (CF or not) it's important to allow yourself to enjoy what you can, everyday. That means getting close to others.

I am married. To some, it seems "unnatural" for someone to pick a spouse with a chronic illness, but the fact is, my husband could be taken from me, before my cf takes me. We just never know.

The reason we were created was for relationship.

Let me just say that I cant imagine holding back on love because I thought I wouldnt live long enough & then find out that I lived 30 years past the expectations.

OH WAIT I did that except I found my love, was never afraid to try for it.

Now School on the other hand is something else.....

My wife often asks at critical moments, "What would you do if you weren't afraid?" My friend... live like you're not afraid.

I agree with Daveyboy! You have live life to its fullest. I guarantee you when I reach 37 I am going to party like crazy and be SUPER thankful for each year after that.
