Hi Stephanie,

I use to notice that my mucus would move when I'd get a massage. So, I started asking my husband to press on certain plug spots, really deep and hard, and rub around the area, at home when I was congested. I was amazed to see that it actually moved the mucus, sometimes even better than chest PT. Now whenever I have a major plug we do this and though it may take a good 10 to 15 minutes just in one spot, it works. Maybe a family member can try this for you?
Also, when I'm in the hospital I LOVE doing saline mists. They make everything in my lungs so moist. Sometimes I do two or three at a time.

Hope you feel better.

Sorry to hear you're in the hospital Stephanie, just wanted to add let us know if you find something that works to remove your plug or what did work, I've been getting quite a few so I would be interested. Do you know it's a plug because it hurts? I know there's been threads about this so I should just do a search.

I do like to have my back massaged when I cough etc... because it helps loosen your breathing muscles (that's what I call them) I am always so tight back there. I haven't massaged the particular part that hurts where I think the plug is, maybe I should try, and the water thing is soooo true, I need to drink more water, that would help a lot.

Take care, keep us updated.

Stephanie, so sorry you are in....you are right, one day you feel fine and then Wham, in the hospital the next day. I pray that you feel better soon and can get those plugs out. They are so hard to move and hurt when they don't. Hugs to you, Jenn <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
