Personally, I can't stand the smell of ensure or pediasure. Smells too vitaminy to me. Friend of mine used to drink ensure at work in the mornings and it'd turn my stomach. I have purchased pediasure for DS and he doesn't seem to mind it.

On a regular basis we give him vanilla carnation instant breakfast made with whole milk and an ounce of cream. Tastes like melted ice cream to me. Think he got burnt out on chocolate, 'cuz he won't touch that or drink chocolate milk. Also, when I give him plain old white milk, I toss in a splash of cream. Same when he has cereal to eat.

I'm sure most of you have heard this before and probably even do it. We are on 7 ultrase mt 20's our limit and yet my daughter wasn't gaining weight and having problems with tummy aches....we started ZANTAC 150mg twice a day with meals and she put on 2 1/2 lbs in 3 months and now you can not get her full <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> YEAH!!!!
Just wanted to share that with you all.</end quote></div>

We also were on Zantac...but now Hannah is on Prevacid.....she is doing well with her weight...some people think she is 3yrs instead of 2yrs old..I am really glad when I hear that, since she was so small before.....I am told by her docs that the Zantac & Prevacid help the enzymes digest properly...without Zantac or Prevacid, the enzymes are dissolving in stomach acid before they help in absorption of fat...so your not getting the full benefit....I would suggest talking to your docs about this...

You will have to experiment with adding extra calories to things they like but balance the calories. Just a suggestion if they like shakes make a supper shake or smoothie w/real fruit and whole milk or ice cream add carnation instant breakfast or Met-RX from your local nutrition store. Do trial and error to find what they like but make sure w/ the extra calories that you use extra enzymes to cover the increase . My son in 23 yrs. old and thank God he will eat just about anything. Feed them throughout the day anytime they will eat make sure meals and snacks are not empty calories but are packed full of protein, good carbs, fats and dairy products.
