Loss of voice

It could be acid reflux. I found that the combination of acid reflux and Tobi caused me to lose my voice. Once I started taking reflux meds it went away and has not happened in years.

Amy I have been told that I have a raspy voice too, right now its not too bad but I can tell my voice isnt what it should be, one way for me to tell is to try and sing along to a song, and it never fails my vocal cords have a hard time going high or low, it sucks but I deal with it.

I know posted about reflux before but when I see the ol doc I think i will ask him about it. It would be so nice if I could go a year without a hoarse voice.

I'm like Amy...I don't lose my voice completely, but I'm always a bit raspy and feel like I have to clear my throat ALL THE TIME. It is the single biggest problem in my relationship with my boyfriend because he has this obsessive compulsive weird thing with throat-clearing; it drives him CRAZY (and I can't help it, lol)

I have no idea how to make it better - hot tea maybe? or hard candy to suck on is a good idea already mentioned too. If anybody figures out the ultimate solution to this problem, PLEASE share <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Instead of clearing your throat try swallowing hard to get it down so you don't have to clear your throat, plus that also helps your vocals chords if you swallow, clearing your throat can put a strain on the vocal chords, I read that on some health site. I try and do the swallowing thing but sometimes I forget to.
