Low blood pressure

Mine is usually ok. I haven't heard anything about it before my tx. Post tx it went up to 145/98 and I went on meds for it (it was close to 100 and that really is too high). And they were ok again, usually about 125/80 or 75..

When I had the wire in my sternum removed this summer my bp was ok after the surgery. It was a one day appt so when I was to be released at the end of the day they checked it again and it had gone down to 110/50. Luckily the doc who had to write the releasepapers had seen me walking and I looked and felt ok. So he let me go. I was only going to the hotel across the road as I had some tests the following day. He said to eat enough salt, so I told him we already had a bag of crisps waiting in our hotelroom haha. And he said I had to come back the evening/night when I didnt feel well. Next day I went back to the ward to have it checked one more time and it was ok again.

His comment about eating salt got me thinking. Maybe your bp is low because you don't have enough salt? Just one more CF thing..

I'm now off my meds and my bp is ok again..

mine is always low as well. last month in the hospital it was 75/43, and the nurse was like "that isn't right, thats the blood pressure of an infant". she repeated it twice more, making me sit and then stand, but it remained in the 70/40 range.
i've never noticed that making me feel bad, but my doctors did say being dehydrated makes blood pressure lower. so i suppose upping the liquids and salt should help some.

Interesting! Mine usually runs 100/70, 110/70 (checked it tonight in Walmart while waiting on a prescription, lol), and in the early mornings it can run in the 80's/50's range too. My clinic nurses finally quit asking me this year "Do you usually run low?" <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
