Caroline, now I'm confused. Weren't you taking 5,000 and then upped it to 10,000 because of the low numbers? If you're only taking 500 now once a day, that might explain your low number! I also take my calcium with magnesium and D together (Cal-M-D), the result being that I take 250 mg calcium twice or three times a day in addition to my prenatal vitamin (though I don't know how much calcium that gives me). Taking 500 mg in one sitting may really be too much.
