I've tried taking Fever Few for my arthritis...doesn't work. It would be worth a shot though. Mine has gotten to the point that when I flair I need prednisone for a few days.

Just to let you guys know, I was in no way abusing them. One Duragesic patch every 3 days was enough to disqualify me. I'm now completely off everything. These were for extreme sinus pain, which after surgery for some reason I have had (and still have) very bad pain in my face every day, for 4 years with no explanation.

But as far as your occasional use of Percocet, it's hard to say, I'm not sure if transplant centers vary.. I think it's regular use (every day) that can be a disqualification. I'm in pain every day still, which is somewhat controlled now by Motrin but it takes close to 1200mg which can't be healthy, but I am not even allowed Vicodin now that I have been referred to a transplant center.

It's a hard decision to make, hurt every day while waiting on transplant or stay comfortable and not? Unfair, yeah. Maybe talking to your doctor would be a good idea, just so you don't get in the mess I am. I'm about to have to stop taking Motrin because it's throwing my kidneys out of whack. I can't take Tylenol (enough to help) because of my liver. So this was the main reason I was switched to narcotics years ago in the first place.

I saw your post and was going to reply about to it as well, but the thread got locked. I have no idea why, since transplants are something that are VERY pertient to many (all?) of us. Even if we don't get one for ourselves, we all certainly know someone that has gotten one or is on the list, and the information is important. Anyway, I digress.

I am in a similar boat to you as well. I have bad joint pain which I tried to "control" myself by taking more and more tylenol, aspirin, motrin... anything to stop the pain. Well it never even really stopped the pain completely, and all it did was f(#*$ up my liver. So now I take vicodin as needed. That's a sad thing indeed if they take you off the list for taking prescribed narcotics.
