Luteal Phase Defect

Caroline,

I have 3 consecutive charts and 1 from early this year. So a total of 4.

12/29/2006
Ovulated on Day 16, Luteal Phase - 16 days

5/31/2006
Ovulated on Day 20, Luteal Phase - 13 days

7/3/2007
Ovulated on Day 14, Luteal Phase - 15 days

8/1/2007
Ovulated on Day 21, Luteal Phase - 6 days

Like I said, this cycle is really messed up. The other cycles seemed to have a "normal" luteal phase. This is different...

I have read somewhere about Vitamin B and Vitex. Is Vitex safe, though, with Clomid? I use to take Vitamin B daily years ago. Back then, I had just gotten off the pill and needed some help controlling the mood swings.

I'll pick up some Vitamin B for sure. I know that can't hurt.

The spotting before my period is interesting. I always spot for 2-3 days before I actually get my period. It gets so annoying. It's like, "Come on...Let's just get it over with..."

there is such a thing as a luteal phase defect and with charts like this it seem sthey shoudl check for that before wasting alot your time and money. 2 of my friends hda it and it can be a real bummer of a deal or it can be easy to fix, they are both pregnant right now ironically. YOu can look it up online or basically they test by haivn gyou come in on a certain day and doing biopsy uterine lining to see what it says compared to where you should be on cycle.

If you're going to spend the money on clomid and stuff, ask for a script for bioidentical progesterone suppositories - they can't hurt and they might help sustain a pregnancy if you do indeed have a LPD (though it might just be a fluke this cycle - as someone already said, most women's LP tend to be the same amount of time each month and your sem to be normal).
