I get the feeling he was a very late diagnosis... always having some lung problems but never getting the proper diagnosis of CF until recently.

Actually, the article and what he actually said make me think he DOESN'T have CF, but rather bronchiectasis. He says he has a "low grade form" of cystic fibrosis on the clip, and the article states bronchiectasis. To me, he sounds like he's not well informed that the two are separate, albeit at times similar conditions. Could be I'm intrepreting it incorrectly. In any case, it's interesting!
