Making hospitalization easier

I don't know if anyone else has ever enjoyed this one perk, but it's our favorite. It's called a "pass". Our childrens hospitals allows us to leave each day for a few hours (btw treatments). It's great, we can go to a local park, local store and even enjoy a meal at a resturaunt. We usually get around 3 hrs per pass. The hospital itself dosen't offer them, you need to ask you doctor. If he agrees he can write the pass but so many hours and then you can work it out with your iv treatments. It dosen't hurt to ask and it can save your sanity to just get out of there for a little while.
