Managing Stress and Taking Care of yourself

It seems that everyone is stressed--and for good reason, there is a lot going on! I feel like CF just elevates my baseline and causes this underlying level of stress that is always there. So...I was thinking that we could also use a reminder that we need to be proactive in managing stress and have strategies and plans in place now...so that we are prepared when something big hits. So...my challenge to y'all...think about how you deal with stress--what you do well and what you don't do so well. Then think about better ways to deal with stress and come up with a plan. Then...share what you are going to do today to help deal with stress today and do it!

I will start...

I have started knitting again that helps with stress. I also made an appointment for a massage for next week.

Tonight I am going to take a bath with a cup of tea and then stretch after.

I go to the gym 2-3 times a week and then take a nice long hot shower.

I had my first ever massage today and it totally rocked my socks. Except for the paying part. Haaaaaa.

hmmmm...making me think oh so early in the am

I write ALOT when I am stressed. I need to find a reason for it and a way to reduce it so I write until I annoy people haha! You will see this is true with my umpteen amount of blogs on SSDI This really works for me. Talking and writing seem to work the best. And when it isn't something that can be solved by writing I go to the gym and work my arse off so I can let some of the frustrations out!!!

Exercise is my #1 stress reducer.

I have also tried very hard to break my routine down into 1 day units, and try very hard just to focus on today. It helps prevent me from getting overwhelmed by the size of it all.

I set non-CF related goals that give me things to look forward to and work for... that doesn't always reduce stress, but it helps me stay compliant with my routine, and when I accomplish them, it always gives me a big boost.
